The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering ( www.engineering.pitt.edu/bioengineering ) invites applications from accomplished individuals with a PhD in bioengineering, quantitative biology, biophysics, or a closely related discipline.  This is a tenure-stream faculty position at the rank of assistant professor and the research focus areas include biomimetics, synthetic biology, and the engineering of living systems.  The candidate should have experience in elucidating principles of living multicellular systems or in applying technologies that apply those principles to integrate living systems with engineered structures.  In addition, the candidate must be committed to contributing to high quality education of a diverse student body at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
