FRANK J. REDD ANNUAL STUDENT COMPETITION

Named after Frank J. Redd, PhD, the founder of the AIAA/USU Conference on Small Satellites, the Student Scholarship Competition provides student with the opportunity to share their work on small satellite concepts and missions. Scholarships are awarded to competition finalists presenting at the AIAA/USU Conference on Small Satellites. 

ACERS J. EARL FRAZIER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The American Ceramic Society - Pittsburgh Chapter annually awards the J. Earl Frazier Memorial Scholarship (for $3,000) to a member of a junior class at one of the colleges providing an accredited undergraduate ceramic science and/or engineering curriculum and whose home residence is within the geographical confines of the Pittsburgh Section.

ADA I. PRESSMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

SWE Scholarships support women pursuing ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States.

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS (ASME) SCHOLARSHIPS

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) nearly $100,000 in academic scholarships annually to ASME Student Members worldwide. The program is a collaboration between the ASME Center for Education and the ASME Foundation. Applications for each academic year are accepted online from February 1 through March 15.

ASHRAE J. RICHARD MEHALICK SCHOLARSHIP

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers' J. Richard Mehalick Scholarship is available to an undergraduate mechanical engineering student enrolled full-time at the University of Pittsburgh. Must meet all other applicable criteria. 

SAE/BMW ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP 

This scholarship is in support of the SAE Foundation to ensure an adequate supply of well-trained engineers for the future. This scholarship will be paid into your account at your selected university in July/August.

MATERIALS SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIPS

Material Advantage connects materials science students with ACerS, AIST, ASM, and TMS scholarships. Nearly $600,000 in scholarships and grants are available through societies, chapters and foundations.

NATIONALITY ROOMS AND INTERCULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS

The Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs began in 1926. As committees completed their rooms, they turned their attention to creating study-abroad scholarships. The Nationality Rooms have awarded scholarships for summer study abroad annually since 1948. The purpose of the awards is to enable University of Pittsburgh students to have an in-depth immersion in other cultures for at least five weeks. It is important that applicants choose a program that will maximize their contact with the populace abroad and be accepted by the University for credit. Applications can be submitted at the Nationality Rooms website.

SMART SCHOLARSHIP

The Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship Service Program has been established by the Department of Defense (DoD) to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The program aims to increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at DoD laboratories.

VIRA I. HEINZ SCHOLARSHIP OF EDUCATION ABROAD

The Vira I. Heinz Scholarship of Education Abroad enables three women at each of 15 designated college and university campuses, to spend a period of time abroad during the summer. Applicants propose their individualized study/research projects. The program is committed to providing opportunities for recipients to engage in professional development and networking throughout their careers. Three Vira I. Heinz Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to University of Pittsburgh Oakland campus women for study during the summer. Each scholarship is worth $5,000.
